چکیده

Background: Liver diseases including chronic hepatitis, steatosis, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer are now a public health problem. In 2002, accounted for 27.63% of hepatobiliary in Burkina Faso. Africa more particularly Faso, the majority population (about 80%) uses medicinal plants their primary care. Calotropis procera (Ait.) R.Br (Apocynaceae) is plant used Faso treatment problems. This work aims to evaluate anti-fibrotic properties roots barks. Methods: The activity ethanolic extract barks was evaluated using diethylnitrosamine (DEN) induce fibrosis male Wistar rats. Serum biomarkers, alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), Total protein, Albumin, Υ-Glutamyl transferase (GGT) were activities antioxidant enzymes (Superoxide dismutase catalase) as well level malonedialdehyde (MDA) that nitric oxide (NO) determined homogenate. Results: rats suffering from hepatic with leads significant restoration biomarkers function particular, AST, ALP, GGT, Albumin. also causes reduction oxidative stress through increase rate Superoxide (SOD) catalase accompanied by drop MDA NO suggesting anti-oxidant effect extract. Conclusion: results study show has properties.

TLR4 Deficiency Protects against Hepatic Fibrosis and Diethylnitrosamine-Induced Pre-Carcinogenic Liver Injury in Fibrotic Liver

BACKGROUND The development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common consequence of advanced liver fibrosis but the interactions between fibrogenesis and carcinogenesis are still poorly understood. Recently it has been shown that HCC promotion depends on Toll-like receptor (TLR) 4. Pre-cancerogenous events can be modelled in mice by the administration of a single dose of diethylnitrosamine ...

Anti-fibrotic effects of a methylenedioxybenzene compound, CW209292 on dimethylnitrosamine-induced hepatic fibrosis in rats.

A series of methylenedioxybenzene compounds were synthesized and found to have hepatoprotective effects in chemical-induced hepatotoxicity models. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the anti-fibrotic effects of a synthetic methylenedioxybenzene compound, CW209292, using the dimethylnitrosamine (DMN)-induced chronic liver injury model in rats. Liver injuries were induced in Spra...

Anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects of sirolimus on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats.

PURPOSE Pulmonary fibrosis is a devastating disease with a poor prognosis. Although the diagnosis and pathophysiology of this disease have been better characterized over the past few years, there is no effective therapy for the disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects of sirolimus (SRL), which is a potential anti-fibrotic agent, by using ble...

Anti‑fibrotic effects of Acremoniumterricola milleretal mycelium on immunological hepatic fibrosis in rats.

Acremoniumterricola milleretal mycelium (AMM) exerts numerous protective effects on organs, and has been used in Chinese herb prescriptions to treat refractory diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of AMM on immunological hepatic fibrosis induced by porcine serum (PS) in rats. Male Sprague Dawley rats were administered 0.5 ml sterile PS by intraperitoneal injections twi...

Anti-fibrotic effects of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger (Crassulaceae) on hepatic stellate cells and thioacetamide-induced fibrosis in rats

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Orostachys japonicus A. Berger (Crassulaceae) has been used in traditional herbal medicines in Korea and other Asian countries to treat various diseases, including liver disorders. In the present study, the anti-fibrotic effects of O. japonicus extract (OJE) in cellular and experimental hepatofibrotic rat models were investigated. MATERIALS/METHODS An in vitro hepatic ste...
